The South Course, designed by Alvaro Arana, was the first golf course to be built at El Rompido. It was inaugurated in October 2003, next to the club house and in perfect harmony with its surroundings. It is divided into two courses with very different characteristics, both from a technical point of view and in terms of the landscape. Pine woods alternate with olive groves and wetlands, requiring golfers to strategise and hit their shots with precision.

The course is easily accessible on foot and is suitable for players of all levels. It has wide greens that are said to be among the fastest in Andalusia. Its mixture of tropical and winter grass gives golfers the feeling of perfect conditions throughout the year.
